Nightclub
Nightclub usually refers to a late-night venue with dancing, alcohol and people having fun. In most places it just means a dance club or place where singles meet others, but in some countries the word can also be used for adult nightlife, strip clubs, swinger venues or brothel clubs.
In Germany the word Nachtclub can usually refer to something more than a place to dance. Because of the legal status of sex work and more openness around adult nightlife, some nightclubs in Germany have combined bars, exotic dancers, private rooms for sex, prostitutes, fetish nights and play areas for sex.
German strip clubs are often referred to as table-dance bars and when translated someone may think its a bar where people dance like a crazy on a tables and have big beer glasses.
Since Berlin is also known for fetish and sex-positive nightlife. Sex positive nightclubs in Berlin like KitKatClub and Insomnia mix electronic musix, fetish dress codes, nudity, swingers, BDSM and adult play areas. Other places, like Rush Hour Berlin, are more traditional gentleman’s clubs or fully nude strip venues.
