Bottle service
Bottle service means buying a bottle together with a VIP table, sofa or private seating area in a nightclub, strip club, beach club, KTV or lounge. You are not really paying for the alcohol. You are paying for the table, faster entry, waitress service, space to sit and looking like you got money.
Most clubs work with a minimum spend. Better tables near the DJ, stage or dancers cost more. The final bill is usually much higher after tax, service fee, tips and girls ordering drinks on your tab.
Bottle service is big in places like Las Vegas, Miami, Dubai, Bangkok, Makati, Singapore and Phuket. In nightlife areas, girls, bargirls, freelancers and hostesses often watch who buys bottles because that is where the money and free drinks are.
In strip clubs and hostess bars, girls may push expensive bottles because they get commission or bonuses from the sale. A table full of bottles attracts girls fast, but many are more interested in the free alcohol and VIP sofa than the guy buying it.
Prices can start around US$300-500+ in normal clubs and go much higher in United States, United Arab Emirates, Japan or in China. A stupid drunk foreigner can burn thousands in one night very easily.
Bottle-service scams are common. Fake premium alcohol, padded bills, fake tips, hidden charges, drink spiking and girls ordering on your tab all happen. Always confirm the full final price before ordering and do not hand your credit card around like an idiot.
