Drink spiking
Drink spiking is also called a getting roofied or knockout drops. Drink spiking means secretly adding extra alcohol or other drugs into someone’s drink or food. In nightlife and sex tourism areas it is usually done to rob, rape, blackmail or control the victim.
Never leave your drink unattended. Not even when going to toilet. If you leave it, buy a new one. Do not let random girls or new friends carry your beer. Watch your phone and wallet in the bar. Do not leave your things on the table when you walk away.
It can happen in bars, clubs, parties, strip clubs, KTVs, go-go bars, brothels, massage rooms, hotel rooms, private condos and red-light streets. Sometimes it is done by strangers. Sometimes by a new “friend”, bargirl, freelancer, escort, ladyboy, taxi tout or even someone pretending to help.
If you suddenly feel dizzy, weak, sleepy, confused, sick, unable to walk properly or too drunk for what you drank, take it seriously and ask help immediately or call for authorities.
Drink spiking and robbery go together. A drunk or drugged guy is easy to steal from. Phone, wallet, cash, watch, bank cards, jewellery, room key and passport can disappear fast. Some guys wake up in the hotel room with money gone. Some wake up outside and remember almost nothing.
If bringing a girl, escort, freelancer, bargirl or ladyboy to your hotel, a proper Guest Friendly Hotel is safer. Let reception take her ID. Many good hotels call the room before sending her upstairs and call again when she leaves to ask if everything is okay. That is not drama, that is safety.
Be more careful in cheap short-time hotels, private apartments, shady massage rooms and unknown condos. Hidden cameras, room theft, blackmail, drink spiking and setup stories are more common in those places than in proper hotels.
If you think you were spiked, stop drinking, stay with someone you trust and do not let the person who gave you the drink take you anywhere private. Get medical help if you feel seriously wrong. Cancel cards fast if your wallet or phone is gone.
Do not act like a playboy with shitloads of cash. Expensive watch, fat wallet, loose phone on the table and drunk foreigner behaviour make you a target.
