Sugar dating scams
The sugar dating scam has exploded in recent years, especially on apps and websites where people look for "sugar daddy" or "sugar baby" arrangements.
At first glance it looks different from escort or prostitution scams.
In reality, it is the same story, just dressed up cleaner.
Instead of calling it escort or hooker work, they call it "arrangement", "allowance", "mutual benefit". But the structure is identical to the scams seen in Escort and sex worker markets.

Paypig and OnlyFans Girl Crossover
Paypig and fake OnlyFans girls now heavily overlap with this entire issue. Half the time, it's the same guys, with a different approach based on what works. One profile reads "sugar baby," another "brat," and still another "content creator." But the script below is the same: "First, send money or gifts." "Take care of me" "Prove you're serious or some other BS like this"
You're done once you send, since they don't stop there. But they keep pushing instead just like blackmailers.
First a small amount, then a larger one and you are done. They test you in this manner.
Many of these "girls" aren't actually even female. Simply individuals or small groups managing several accounts often from Nigeria with identical images and lines copied and pasted everywhere.
Verification Fee Setup
This stuff is all over the place right now, it doesn’t matter if you are on Tinder, IG, some "sugar dating" site, or telegram.
You connect, exchange a few messages, and just like that, she’s eager to meet up quickly. Far too simple. That’s your first clue that things aren’t quite right. Then comes the classic move. "upfront payment" "identity check" "assurance fee"
Typically just small enough that you barely hesitate, 20 to 100 USD, occasionally a bit more if they sense you're an easy target.
If you are careless enough to pay it, they start making more excuses to get more money or disappear.
No one was ever on their way to meet you.
Same old routine playing out from Thailand to Philippines to Dominican Republic to Eastern Europe. If she wants to meet you quickly, you're likely dealing with a scammer.
Fake Sugar Daddy Angle
Flip side of the same setup.
Now it’s some "sugar daddy" or "sugar mommy" telling you they’ll send you money.
Big allowance numbers, 1000, 3000, 5000, whatever sounds convincing.
People drop their guard here because they think they’re getting paid instead of paying.
Then comes the catch.
You need to "unlock" the transfer You need to "upgrade" your account You need to pay a "processing fee"
Or they send fake screenshots showing money "pending".
Sometimes they use fake checks.
You send anything at all, even a small amount, they’re gone.
No one is randomly sending money to strangers online for nothing.
Long Game Type
This one’s more dangerous because it doesn’t feel like a scam at first.
They don’t rush you.
They talk.
Daily messages, voice notes, sometimes short clips. Enough to feel real but never enough to verify anything properly.
Then after a while, something happens.
Family problem Emergency Can’t access funds
Now they ask.
By this point, some people are already mentally invested, so they send.
It’s not a quick grab, it’s a slow drain.
You’ll see this a lot with profiles claiming to be from Ukraine, Russia, Brazil, Philippines.
Moving You Off Platform
This is always included in the setup.
Always.
They move you off the platform quickly.
From Tinder to WhatsApp Telegram to Instagram
"I don't use this app much" is the same line every time.
They move you so there is no trace, no reporting, no protection.
If they push you off the app quickly, that’s already a red flag.
Same Signs Everywhere
Doesn’t matter if you’re in Thailand, Colombia, Europe or USA.
Money before meeting Excuses Moving platforms fast Too easy, too fast
Different country, same setup.
Bottom Line
Call it sugar dating scams, OnlyFans scams, dating scams, escort scams.
If money is going out before anything real happens, you’re not in a deal.
You’re getting played.
And once you send once, they’ll keep pushing until you stop.
