Foreplay
Foreplay means sexual or intimate activity before sexual intercourse or other sex. It can include flirting, kissing and touching, and is common in relationships, casual sex and one-night stands.
Foreplay can also be part of encounters with hookers and escorts, particularly services advertised as GFE. However, some prostitutes deliberately keep foreplay to a minimum because shorter sessions mean they can see more customers.
A classic example is Amsterdam's Red Light District, where some window prostitutes offer very short sessions. The customer may pay €50–€100 and be encouraged to get straight to sex, finish quickly and leave, sometimes making the entire visit only a few minutes long. For the prostitute, several short customers can be considerably more profitable than spending a long time on foreplay with one guy.
Erotic massage, on the other hand, can involve a much longer build-up and may itself function as foreplay before other sexual activity.
