Libido

Libido means a person's sexual desire or sex drive – basically how much they want sex or sexual activity. A person with a high libido may think about sex frequently, get horny often and regularly look for ways to satisfy their sex drive. Someone with a low libido may rarely feel interested in sex.

Guys and girls deal with a high sex drive in different ways. Some have sex with a partner, look for casual sex or a one-night stand, masturbate or watch porn. Some guys regularly visit hookers or escorts when they want sex without dating or a relationship.

Libido differs enormously between people and can change over time. Age, hormones, stress, sleep, relationships, mood, medication and general health can all affect sex drive. There is no particular amount of sex somebody has to want in order to have a "normal" libido.

Libido is closely connected with sexual arousal, but they are not fully the same thing. Libido is the general desire for sex, while sexual arousal is the mental and physical response that happens when somebody becomes sexually excited or turned on.
