Asexuality

Asexuality is a sexual orientation in which a person does not experience sexual attraction toward others. An asexual person (sometimes called ace) can experience romantic attraction, fall in love, date and have relationships.

Not everyone who is asexual lacks an interest in sex. Some asexual people have sexual intercourse, masturbation or sexual arousal, whilst others have little or no interest in sexual activity. So asexuality is not the same thing as having a low sex drive.

Asexuality is also not the same as celibacy or celibacy. Celibacy is the choice not to engage in sexual activity, while asexuality describes a person’s pattern of sexual attraction.

Some asexual people also identify as aromantic if they experience little to no romantic attraction. Some may be heteroromantic, homoromantic, biromantic or otherwise romantically attracted to people despite little or no sexual attraction .
