Bacchus ladies
Bacchus Ladies (박카스 할머니) refers to a well-known but low-key form of prostitution in South Korea, involving elderly women, usually in their 60s–80s, who operate around public parks, markets, and older urban districts.
The name comes from the cheap energy drink Bacchus-F, which these women originally sold in parks as a way to start conversations with older men. Over time, this turned into a discreet system of offering companionship and sexual services.

History
The name comes from "Bacchus-F," a cheap energy drink that was sold in parks in the 1990s and early 2000s.
At first, these women sold drinks to older men who were sitting in parks. Once they got to know each other, they would quietly offer "extra" services.
After the "Asian financial crisis" of 1997, the number of poor elderly people went up a lot. A lot of women who didn't have a pension or family support turned to this to stay alive.
Most of them don't even sell drinks anymore. The name stayed the same, but the system changed.
