Napier Road

Napier Road is situated in the city of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan and is named after Charles Napier, the first British Governor of the Sindh province.

The road was historically the principal red-light district of Karachi. Because prostitution is illegal in Pakistan, the majority of Napier Road's brothels masqueraded as dancing halls and theaters. The women referred to themselves as entertainers doing mujras, and arrangements for sexual services were usually made through private pimps. Approximately 1,000 of Karachi's 20,000 commercial sex workers were believed to operate within the district during that time. Napier road red light area was the biggest prostitute hub in the country and central hub for prostitutes immigrating to other red light brothel areas.

The begins its course in Karachi's financial heart, centered around I.I. Chundrigar Road, and continues north where it intersects with Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road. It continues north, through the aforementioned Red Light District, intersecting with Daryalal Street in the Jodia Bazar neighborhood, before coursing along further north until its terminus at Lea Market.

Napier Road is still commonly searched as Karachi red light district, even though the scene has change a lot and in example in 2025 there were just around 30 brothels left, while in 2026 there are much less than that.

Erotic massage parlors operate in area now a days, while street prostitution is rare. Transgender girls can also be found from Napier Road.
