Kanazuen

Kanazuen is the largest soapland district in Gifu, Japan, and one of the best known red-light districts in the country. Located just west of JR Gifu Station, Kanazuen has been one of Japan's main adult entertainment areas for years and is famous for its concentration of soaplands.

Unlike many red-light districts around the world, Kanazuen is almost entirely made up of soaplands rather than street prostitution. Men normally choose a particular shop, pay the entrance fee and select a companion according to the establishment's system. Prices vary between establishments, but around ¥12,000 to 18,000 for a standard session is common.

Many Japanese visitors travel to Gifu specifically to visit Kanazuen, while foreign tourists increasingly include it alongside famous districts such as Yoshiwara, Kabukichō, Susukino and Nakasu.

Although Gifu has a smaller adult entertainment scene than Tokyo or Osaka, Kanazuen has a long reputation for offering friendly service, cheap prices and a more relaxed atmosphere. Most customers are local businessmen, domestic visitors and regular clients, although foreign tourists have become more common in recent years.

Outside Kanazuen there are also escort services, love hotels, beer bars and other nightlife around Gifu Station, but Kanazuen remains the city's top destination for commercial sex.

Soaplands

Kanazuen consists mostly soaplands ranging from small local establishments to larger, more luxurious venues. Most employ Japanese ladies, although some shops also have Korean, Chinese and other Asian staff. Compared with larger cities, the atmosphere is generally more chill and less commercial.

Prices

Standard soapland prices usually start around ¥12,000 to 18,000 depending on the place, time of day and length of the session. Premium shops and longer sessions cost always more.

Stay Safe

Kanazuen is considered safe by Japanese standards. As with any red-light district, you should confirm prices before entering, carry cash, avoid unofficial hustlers and use common sense. English is not widely spoken, so a translation app can be useful when chatting with girls and staff.
