Fingering (sexual act)
Fingering is a sexual act in which the genitals or anus of one person are stimulated with one or more of the fingers by another person.
It is a common form of foreplay, masturbation and non-penetrative sex among sexual partners.
Fingering carries a very low risk of pregnancy and usually a lower risk of sexually transmitted disease transmission than vaginal or anal sex , although some infections can be transmitted through skin contact or body fluids .
You can reduce your risk of infection by keeping your hands clean and avoiding contact if you have open cuts or sores on your fingers.
Fingering may be practiced in isolation or in conjunction with oral sex, sexual intercourse and other forms of sexual activity.
