Climax
Climax is one of the best known late night clubs on Sukhumvit Soi 11 in Bangkok. It has been a popular meeting place for tourists, expats, local partygoers and freelancers for many years, located in the basement of the Ambassador Hotel.
Unlike the go-go bars around Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy, Climax is a normal nightclub with DJs, live music, dance floors and table service. There is no traditional bar fine system, which makes it one of the most popular places to keep the party going after the nearby bars start closing.
History
In the 2000s, Climax became one of Bangkok’s classic after-hours clubs. It helped establish Sukhumvit Soi 11 as Bangkok's premier nightlife street, alongside venues such as Bed Supperclub and Q Bar.
Although the club closed for a period during redevelopment and renovations, it has since reopened and continues to attract both regular visitors and first-time tourists. == Atmosphere ==
The atmosphere is much more relaxed than inside a traditional [[Go-go Bar] . Most people come to drink, dance and socialize, although freelancers are common throughout the venue, especially after midnight.
The crowd is generally a combination of tourists, expats, local office workers, freelancers and groups of friends. Although some ladyboys may also be found at the club, Climax is not considered a ladyboy venue.
Many freelancers go to Climax after leaving the nearby Go-go bars or other venues around Sukhumvit. There is no bar fine as the women are generally independent freelancers, rather than being employees of the club.
As anywhere in Bangkok, prices, expectations and arrangements should always be discussed before leaving together.
