Coital alignment technique
Coital Alignment Technique (CAT) is a variation of missionary that emphasises clitoral contact during intercourse. Instead of repeated thrusting, the movement is closer to steady rocking. The partner on top shifts slightly higher along the other person's body. This brings the base of the dick and pubic area into closer contact with the clitoral area. Both partners adjust their movement to find a comfortable rhythm.
CAT may appeal to people who get little stimulation from penetration alone. It keeps the face to face contact and kissing that make missionary appealing. It does not guarantee an orgasm, and some people prefer other stimulation. If the position feels awkward, adjust it or try something else. Despite the technical name, CAT is simply another variation among familiar sex positions.
