Saint-Catherine Street
Saint-Catherine Street (West) is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is Montreal's best-known red-light district and has long been associated with the city's sex industry. While the area once had visible street prostitution, peep shows and adult cinemas, most commercial sex has moved indoors or online. Today the district is best known for its strip clubs, adult entertainment and nightlife, while street prostitution is much less visible than in previous decades.
Location
The district is centred on Sainte-Catherine Street West between Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Atwater Avenue. Most adult entertainment is concentrated around the western section of downtown, with additional venues on nearby side streets.

Street prostitution still exists but is limited compared with previous decades. Most sex selling activity takes place late at night on nearby side streets rather than directly on Sainte-Catherine Street.

Stay Safe
The district is pretty busy and well-patrolled, but you can run into the odd drunk or drug user or scammer late at night. Always negotiate the price before booking any private services or purchasing private dances. Watch your valuables, as pickpocketing can occur in crowded places.
