Hidden cameras
Hidden cameras in brothels, massage parlours and escort apartments are a privacy concern for punters. A camera facing the bed can record sex, while one at reception may simply record you walking in. Either way, think about what somebody could do with footage showing your face.
Before getting undressed, have a look around. Don't get so carried away with the girl that you miss a phone propped up and pointing straight at the bed.
Keep your private details to yourself. Don't leave your full name, work number, family details or personal social media with somebody you have just met. If a recording is used for Blackmail, paying does not buy you a guarantee of silence.

Hidden cameras in brothels and massage parlours
A hidden camera can film customers having sex, showering or getting a massage. That doesn't mean every Brothel or massage parlour films its customers. It does mean a closed bedroom door is no guarantee of privacy.
Look at what is facing the bed, massage table and shower. Clocks, chargers and other ordinary objects can contain cameras. The lens may be only a small opening.
Before going, look online for pictures of hidden camera devices. Search for camera clocks, camera chargers, fake smoke detector cameras and camera glasses. Look at where the lens sits. Knowing what these things look like gives you something to go on when checking a room.
Things worth a second look:
- An apparent lens in a clock, charger or other object facing the bed.
- A phone standing on a shelf with its camera pointing into the room.
- An open laptop facing the bed or massage table.
- An iPad or other tablet propped up where it has a clear view of you.
- An unusual ceiling fitting or an object made to look like a smoke detector.
Leave fire alarms alone. Don't cover them, disconnect them or start pulling electrical fittings apart. A smoke detector on the ceiling is normal and does not prove there is a camera.
During a massage you may be face down for quite a while. Have your look around first and ask for phones to be put away before getting on the table.
Cameras at the entrance and in hallways
Don't forget the obvious cameras. Entrance, reception and hallway CCTV can record your face, arrival time and which room you enter. There doesn't have to be a sex tape for somebody to threaten to expose your visit. Usually these are not used against you in blackmailing since often the particular girl or transgirl sex worker is the one who starts fucking you over, not the building management.
These cameras may be there for security. That alone is not evidence of a scam. But if you cannot accept being recorded entering the place, don't walk in.
Keeping your phone number private helps, but your face, booking details or payment records may still identify you. A second phone does not make you invisible.
Escort phones, laptops and camera glasses
If the escort keeps a cellphone in her hand, notice where it is pointing. Ask her to put it away before anything starts. A dark screen is not proof that the device cannot record.
An open laptop or tablet facing the bed deserves the same attention. Ask for it to be closed or put away. No need to sit there arguing about whether the camera is switched on.
Some glasses and sunglasses have cameras built into the frames. Have a look online at camera eyewear so you know what it can look like. Some models have a recording light, but don't count on spotting one. Ask for camera glasses to be removed and put away.
No pictures or filming unless everybody agrees. The same rule applies to the punter. Paying the girl does not give you permission to secretly record her.
Other people in the apartment
Ask whether anyone else is there and whether somebody might enter the room. Girls may share an apartment or have somebody nearby for safety. That is not automatically a setup.
If you are uneasy about an adjoining washroom, bathroom or large closet, ask to have a look before undressing. Don't force doors or go through private belongings. If you don't like the situation, leave.
If somebody unexpectedly comes out and starts recording, stop the encounter and get out safely. Don't wrestle them for the phone. If you already suspect somebody is hiding, don't stay to find out what they are planning.
Keep your private number private
Don't hand over a contact that leads straight to your home life. Your everyday number, full name and a WhatsApp picture of your wife and kids give away more than a booking enquiry needs to.
A separate number and separate WhatsApp or Telegram account can help. Check the name, photograph and privacy settings before using it. On Telegram, check who can see your number and find you by it. Don't link the account to your personal social media.
If you want no further contact after the meeting, block their number or account. Just remember what blocking actually does: it stops contact through that account. It doesn't erase your messages from their phone, delete a video or stop them trying another number.
Don't send nude pictures showing your face either. Tattoos and the background can give you away too.
Blackmail after an escort visit
Save the threats, then block and do not answer. Don't pay. If you already paid once, don't keep paying. There may always be another demand.
Keep the messages, numbers, usernames, advert links and payment demands before blocking them. Report the account to the site or app and report the blackmail to local police. If you sent money, contact your bank or payment service straight away.
Don't bargain, threaten them back or agree to another meeting to "sort it out". Watching somebody delete a video proves nothing about copies they may already have made.
If footage appears online, report it to the platform for removal. See Blackmail and Escort and Sex Scams.
You can look, but you cannot give a room the all-clear from a quick check. Don't trust an app promising to find every camera. A Wi-Fi scan can miss one recording to a memory card, and a detector may react to ordinary electronics.
If you suspect filming, get dressed and leave safely. Note the address and where the device was. Photograph it in place if safe, but don't hang around in danger collecting evidence or take the thing apart.
If somebody blocks your exit or threatens immediate violence, get to safety and call the local emergency services. But also stay tough and dont act scared!
Where Have Cases Been Reported?
Sex-video Blackmail cases have been reported in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Some involve hidden cameras; others involve accomplices coming into a room and filming the victim openly. Don't assume every case is an ordinary escort booking gone wrong. Some meetings are arranged as a trap from the start.
- India — In 2021, Delhi police reported an alleged blackmail racket involving escort services and a camera hidden in a handbag.
- Pakistan — Reports include a hotel employee accused of secretly filming guests in Vehari in 2018. In Mansehra in 2025, police described a gang using women to lure men into hotel rooms, where accomplices allegedly burst in and filmed them at gunpoint.
- Bangladesh — In Dhaka in 2026, police reported gangs luring men to flats, recording compromising footage and demanding money. These reports describe deliberate setups and forced filming, rather than proving that hidden cameras are standard equipment in brothels.
Don't take the absence of a country from this list as an all-clear. Check the room, watch where phones are pointing and keep your private details to yourself. See Precautionary Steps When Ordering Escorts. In Germany, Austria and other european countries there are also reports from punters.
Threats to expose your private life
A married punter or a guy who isn't openly gay may be frightened of somebody sending footage to his family or workplace. A blackmailer can use that fear to squeeze him for money.
If you meet Male escorts or Trans escorts, the same privacy rules apply. Don't hand over your family contacts, work details or personal social media. Meeting a trans escort does not establish that a man is gay, but a blackmailer may still threaten to tell a story designed to embarrass him.
Save the threats, then block and do not answer. Don't pay. Paying cannot guarantee they will keep quiet, and they may come back demanding more. See Blackmail and Escort and Sex Scams.
