Circumcision
Circumcision is the surgical removal of some or all of the foreskin covering the head of the penis. It is practiced for religious, cultural and medical reasons in many parts of the world.
Male circumcision is common in countries with large Muslim and Jewish populations, and also in parts of Africa and the United States of America. In other places, like much of Europe, most men do not circumcise.
Circumcision may reduce the risk of some infections (including heterosexual acquisition of HIV in certain high-risk populations) slightly, but does not substitute for condom use or other safe sex precautions.
Some men prefer the look or feel of a circumcised penis, and some prefer an uncircumcised penis. People vary widely in their sexual sensitivity and experience.
