Redlights
Redlights.nl, branded Redlights Nederland, is a Dutch adult advertising website with escort ads, massage listings, webcam content and adult-industry jobs. It is an advertising directory, rather than one escort agency. For the wider country background, see Netherlands.
About the site
The site carries different sorts of adult advertising, so calling it just an escorts page misses part of it. There are listings for women, men, trans people and couples, alongside business advertising and virtual adult entertainment. It also links to the Belgian Redlights.be and French-language Quartier-Rouge.be sites.
Redlights uses some old adult-industry wording, including shemale as a category label. That is the site's terminology; transgirls is the more neutral general term.
Advertising and privacy
The homepage calls Redlights the biggest sex worker marketplace in the Netherlands. That is its own sales claim and not known to be one hundred percent correct.
The site has a verified-advert filter, but a badge should not be read as a guarantee of every claim in an advert. Good pictures and a polished profile are still advertising.
Scammers have also impersonated official authorities through messages sent on Redlights. Sex-worker support organisation Violett published a warning about one such scam involving a fake government website. An official-looking message asking for personal details deserves a second look.
