Micropenis
Micropenis is the medical term for an unusually small but otherwise normally formed penis. It isn't simply another word for a small dick. Doctors generally define a micropenis as a stretched penile length more than 2.5 standard deviations below the average for the person's age.
In adults, a stretched penis below roughly 7 cm is generally in micropenis territory, although the exact cut-off varies between studies and populations. A micropenis is different from a buried penis, where a normally sized penis is partly hidden by surrounding tissue or fat.
Size and Causes
Micropenis is rare and usually develops because of hormonal or genetic problems affecting penis growth before birth or during childhood. It is often diagnosed in babies or young children.
Penis size has to be measured properly before calling it a micropenis. Plenty of men who think they have a micropenis actually have a normally sized but smaller-than-average penis.
A micropenis can still get an erection, urinate normally and have sexual function. How much difficulty it causes depends on the individual and any underlying medical condition.
Hormone treatment, particularly when the condition is found early in life, may increase penis growth in some cases. Treatment depends on what caused the micropenis in the first place.
For average measurements and comparisons see Penis Size by Country.
Micropenis and Sex
Having a micropenis doesn't prevent somebody from having sex. Sex positions, hands, oral sex and sex toys can all be part of a sex life regardless of penis size.
Porn and internet bullshit have also given plenty of men a distorted idea of what a normal penis looks like. Being below average isn't the same thing as having a micropenis.
The opposite end of the size scale is usually described as a Big Dick, big penis or being well-hung.
