This is not El Poblado or Parque Lleras. La Veracruz is old downtown Medellín: cheap hotels, street girls, pickpockets, police, drunks and local dudes watching the corners. Guys talk about La Veracruz Medellín prostitutes, La Veracruz hookers and Medellín downtown prostitutes because this is one of the old names tied to the city’s street-track sex scene.
The girls are mixed: older women, rough street types, some younger ones, some tired, some surprisingly decent. Prices are usually cheaper than Poblado, with old street talk often around 30k to 70k COP short-time and cheap rooms around 10k to 30k COP.
