Butterfly position
Butterfly sex position, also called elevated missionary or the edge-of-bed position, is a variation of missionary. The receiving partner lies on their back near the edge of a bed, while the other partner stands or kneels facing them.

Butterfly versus Missionary
The main difference is height. In regular missionary, both partners are on the bed; in butterfly, one is positioned at the edge while the other stands or kneels in front.
It keeps the face-to-face contact while changing the angle. That can feel different, but deeper is not automatically better.
Variations and Comfort
