Bait and switch

Bait & Switch Scam is one of the oldest tricks in the adult industry. You think you're paying for one person, one service or one experience. By the time money changes hands, you're getting something completely different.

It happens with Escorts, Erotic massage, Brothels, Strip clubs, dating apps and even ordinary nightlife. Sometimes it's nothing more than fake photos. Other times it's only the first step before an Escort deposit scam or another form of Escort and Sex scams.

Fake Photos

Every experienced monger has seen this one.

The advert shows an absolute knockout. Twenty-two years old. Professional photos. Perfect body.

You ring the bell and somebody else opens the door.

Maybe she's ten years older.

Maybe she's twenty kilos heavier.

Maybe she's not even the same ethnicity.

Then come the excuses.

"Those photos are old."

"My friend got sick."

"She had an emergency."

"The photographer edited them."

Same story. Different city.

The scam works because most guys have already driven across town, booked a hotel or paid a deposit. Walking away suddenly feels difficult. The scammers know that.

"My Friend Will See You Instead"

This one is almost as old.

You book one escort by name.

When you arrive you're told she's unavailable, but her "friend" is free.

Sometimes the replacement is attractive enough.

Sometimes you immediately know you've been played.

Good agencies normally tell you before the appointment if something changes. Scam operations wait until you're standing at the door.

Fake Nationality

Nationality sells.

Russian today.

Japanese tomorrow.

Brazilian next week.

The passport often has very little to do with the advertisement.

Agencies know certain nationalities attract more clients, so that's what gets written.

Everybody Is Suddenly 22

Escort websites have discovered the fountain of youth.

Some girls stay twenty-two for years.

Old photographs never disappear and heavy filters make the job even easier.

A few wrinkles vanish.

A few kilos disappear.

Reality doesn't always look like the advertisement.

Services Suddenly Change

You read one thing online.

You hear something completely different after payment.

Now everything costs extra.

Now that service isn't available.

Now the website "made a mistake."

Sometimes the provider is being honest because the advertisement is genuinely outdated.

Sometimes it's simply another scam.

If the conversation suddenly becomes "pay more first", you're often moving into an Escort deposit scam.

Massage Parlors

This happens constantly in some Erotic massage parlors.

The website advertises one beautiful therapist.

You arrive and she's "busy."

Another therapist suddenly appears instead.

If this happens every single day, it probably isn't bad luck.

Strip Clubs

Outside the club everything sounds amazing.

Free entry.

Beautiful dancers.

Cheap drinks.

VIP specials.

Inside the prices magically change.

The girls from the posters have disappeared.

The VIP package isn't what you were promised.

Online Version

The internet made bait and switch even easier.

Escort websites.

Dating apps.

Telegram.

Instagram.

OnlyFans.

Sometimes you're chatting with an agency.

Sometimes you're chatting with a boyfriend.

Sometimes there isn't even a woman behind the account.

By the end you're being asked for deposits, verification fees or advance payments.

That's no longer just bait and switch. You're moving into Escort deposit scam territory.

Stolen Porn Photos

Reverse image search has ruined a lot of scams.

It's surprisingly common to see photographs stolen from porn actresses, Instagram models, OnlyFans creators or glamour photographers.

The real woman has absolutely nothing to do with the advertisement.

If every picture looks professionally shot and there's not a single normal selfie, it's worth being suspicious.

Why It Works

The scam isn't clever.

It's psychological.

By the time you discover the switch you've already invested something.

Time.

Money.

Taxi fare.

Hotel.

Maybe even a deposit.

A lot of people convince themselves that "it'll probably be okay."

That's exactly what the scammers are counting on.

How To Avoid It

Don't let embarrassment make the decision.

If the escort is clearly not the person you booked, leave.

If the services suddenly change after payment, leave.

If somebody starts asking for extra money before anything has happened, stop and read Escort deposit scam.

Trust recent reviews more than polished advertisements.

If something feels wrong, it usually is.
