If you are staying in a touristy resort in Sosua and if you meet a local, you can’t generally bring the local back to your all-inclusive resort. Some will allow it, some only if presented at the front desk during daylight hours for registration (no night registration), sometimes only if the local was on the original registration, and most certainly, there will be a charge equivalent to any other guest. Stay Safe
Poverty, though not as bad as next door Haiti, is still rampant in Santo Domingo and it is best you take precautions.
